November’s Birthstone is Topaz

November’s Birthstone is Topaz

By Heidi Kjeldsen - 1st November 2014

Hello everyone and welcome to November’s Blog…
The birthstone for this month is Topaz and the flower is Chrysanthamum.
Topaz is available in the precious yellow or tawny yellow of its name….

Topaz occurs in other colours too from Pink to Golden Brown, Reddish hues make the gorgeous Sherry or prized Imperial Topaz as above.
Or in the captivating Blue variety so popular today
ER1504
Eminently suitable for jewellery, with a hardness of 8 on the Moh’s scale and it is shown off to best advantage when facetted allowing its beautiful lustre to shine through.
November, November…
Goodbye to witches and ghosts
To carved pumpkins twinkling with light

For now November greets us…
Spectacular fireworks. Bonfire Night
Bright rays of the sun shine upon us…
As we sit and warm up the car
On a chilly November morning…
We dream of tropical climates afar…
So long to our barbecue evenings,
Hello to rich, warming stews,
Farewell to our flip flops and sandals…
How we welcome our warm, fur-lined boots
We’ll not allow a dull month to dictate
As we embrace Autumn’s style with delight
Let’s accentuate our lives with colour and beauty …
Rubies, Sapphires, Emeralds, Tanzanites,
November’s Topaz, perhaps Aquamarine or the Garnet
Woolly jumper or black dress so sheer
Pretty, feminine or pure head-turning glamour…
Contemporary chic or vintage yesteryear
Adorn delicate fine cashmere…
Perhaps with a string of timeless pearls
Dress your ears with sparkling diamonds
The best friend to all of us “girls”
Compliment your lapel with brooch
Winter coats we may wear for a while
But let’s accentuate those blacks, greys and browns
For this November we shall sparkle with style
Adorn your finger with a spell-binding Opal
Concealed by a sophisticated glove
Iridescent like bonfire embers glow…
A ring forever to treasure and love
Fireworks inspire the month of November
ER1388
Purple, red, blue, orange, pink and green
The beauty of platinum, rich golds, twinkle of silver
Whether understated glamour or pure Silver Screen
So let’s dress up our chilly days
Let’s enhance our seasonal attire
We will sparkle with colour and beauty
Precious jewels your heart will desire
As Autumn is now upon us,
I hope you have enjoyed the warmth of this beautiful poem.
Thank you for joining me on our jewellery journey…as we celebrate the most exquisite gemstones coupled with the delights of November’s colourful firework festivals and Bonfire Night celebrations.
Yours, Heidi.
